Can’t figure out what to get that hard-to-buy-for person? Looking for a gift that impacts both the recipient and the person you have bought it from?
The Alternative Gift Market will be in Clingman Chapel for one day only – December 7 – after the 8a, 10a, and 5p services. This is the perfect place to do your Christmas shopping.Purchase gifts that offer hope for those around the world who need things as simple as vitamins and mosquito nets, and as complicated as water systems. There will be alternative gifts offered through St. Matthew’s’ own Kenya Kids at Rongo program, Episcopal Relief and Development, and Hearts for Kenya, as well as fair trade items from 3 different organizations. (Watch a video on one of these groups, Recyclocraftz).
These gifts are investments in the future in places where there is tremendous need. You can give a gift in the name of a friend or family member that may be life changing for those actually receiving the donation. All you need is your checkbook and a sense of generosity and compassion.
Come join us in making a difference in the world. We are looking forward to seeing you on December 7. Questions? Email may be addressed to Becky Donovan.
(There will be Adult Education and Church School on the 7th.)
