A message from our Rector, The Rev. Kelly Kirby:

Dear Parish,

Emily Crouch will be leaving St. Matthew’s in January. Over the last six years our congregation has been blessed by her priestly ministry, as well as her administration of the pastoral care of St. Matthew’s. I personally owe Emily a debt of gratitude for her generosity to me as the “new rector”, and I admire her openness to discernment.

Emily has discerned a call to bi-vocational ministry which includes serving the larger Episcopal Church as a priest, and seeing clients as a therapist. Please join me in thanking Emily for her ministry here at St. Matthew’s. Emily’s last Sunday with us will be January 10, her last day is January 31.

God’s peace be with you,

Dear People of St. Matthew’s,
On the First Sunday of Advent, in 2009, I was honored to begin serving as the assistant rector of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. Now, nearly 6 years, a name change, a new husband, a baby later, I am taking another step: I am leaving to pursue licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist and pastoral counselor, and my last Sunday serving at St. Matthew’s will be on January 10, 2016. Zach, Charlotte and I will remain in Louisville.

Thank you for the opportunities to love you and serve this fantastic, growing and vibrant parish. I feel that I have grown so much during my time here, and you all have watched my family grow as well. St. Matthew’s has taught me how to be a priest, and for this I will always be grateful.
Grace and Peace,
