April Food Pantry draws big crowd

At our April 2014 Food Pantry, we served 161 families — a total 516 people, including 187 children and 51 seniors. It was our third largest pantry, behind Thanksgiving 2013 (176 families) and Christmas 2013 (174 families). It was a bit of a surprise, as we have never seen so many families turn out before Easter. Fortunately, we received a great selection and quantity of food from Dare to Care and had enough food in reserve to make sure no one left empty handed.

We had live music today, which was great. We also had a large number of incredible volunteers consisting of church members, our guests and others from the community. It was a great day. It is also worth noting that we just had an anniversary in March – 4 years.
