October Skill Sharing Class – Paint Pouring. Join Sara and Madison Bailey for a Skill Sharing class, Tuesday, October 5, from 6 – 8p to learn a craft technique called paint pouring. Using Acrylic liquid paint, colors are poured onto a prepared canvas and distributed by tilting the canvas to mix colors and create different effects. To comply with current COVID protocols, participants will be asked to wear a mask while in the church building. The cost is $35.00. To register for the class, a sign-up sheet will be on the bulletin board or by September 30, 2021.

September Skill Sharing Class. This class provides an introduction to NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month. This is a month-long writing challenge for all ages and is led by Lucy Bogel, Sophie Kirby (both whom have published books as a product of this challenge in the past), with assistance from Julie Mushkin (who has experience teaching this challenge in her professional career). The books can be fiction, poetry or non-fiction. Authors will write their novels during November and then make edits and share cover ideas during the month of December. If you have thoughts about writing down a family history, favorite family recipes, or creating a fictional story, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a try.

The Zoom class on September 26, 2021, from 6 to 8p will introduce the NaNoWriMo writing project, outline the concept of writing 15,000 or more words in a month, and provide a timeline for planning and writing your book in November. Authors from our parish will share their experience using the NaNoWriMo format. A class fee of $5 will raise money to support AMPED Louisville. In addition to AMPED’s youth mentorship activities, during the pandemic they have also become a powerful black-owned business accelerator in West Louisville.
