The music program, under the direction of Organist/Choirmaster Derrick Grant, is an integral part of the life of our parish.
The St. Matthew’s choir, of high school and adult volunteer music lovers, sings at each Sunday 10 a.m. Eucharist, offering worshippers both modern and classical vocal selections, and leading the congregation in songs from our hymnals. (To hear the choir at one of our 10am services, visit this page where you will find audio files of the services.)
This volunteer group is open to all parishioners. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings throughout the program year.
If you love to sing or make music, consider taking part in our music program throughout the fall, winter and spring. (The choir does not sing in the summer months.)
Singing enhances personal worship. Anyone who enjoys music and would like to be part of St. Matthew’s close-knit music community is welcome. If you like to sing, and are high-school age or older, consider joining the choir. There is a wonderful feeling of community and fellowship that is shared in this rather lively group. If you are new to St. Matthew’s it is a great way to meet people.
