A Book Study for Lent: Praying Our Goodbyes

Praying Our GoodbyesEveryone has times of losing someone or something that has given their life meaning and value: a child going to college, loss of a job, death of a parent, loss of a spouse. Praying our Goodbyes, by Catholic nun Joyce Rupp, offers wisdom on “these experiences of leaving behind and moving on; the stories of union and separation that are written in our hearts.”

Sister Joyce says this about what she has learned from some of the 250,000 readers who have purchased her book: “People from numerous countries have sent me letters describing their stories of loss and expressing their gratitude….I continue to discover more about the depths of grief and the amazing resiliency of the human spirit.”

During Lent, one daytime group and one evening group will be studying “Praying Our Goodbyes” at St. Matthew’s. In addition, there will be an online study group through our Facebook page. Please consider joining one of our studies for discussion and discernment around this popular and powerful book.
