Tools

St Matthews is adding a tool library right down the hall from the toy library.

Borrowing Tools

If you would like to view our inventory or set up an account to borrow tools you may do that from this website. At the moment, tools can be picked up during the food pantry on the third Saturday of the month, Sundays before or after the 10:00 service, or during the week by appointment.

Volunteers

We are currently looking for volunteers to help with:

  • Check in/check out (2-4 hours monthly)--meeting with community members, helping them find tools, noting the checkout in our lending software
  • Ongoing tool repair and maintenance (1-2 hours monthly)--taking care of the inventory and making sure items are ready to use for the next borrower

Tool Wish List

We are also adding to our tool inventory. If you have any of the following tools (or similar items you think we'd be interested in) please contact Brian Ceresa at bpc73034@gmail.com or 614-5200.

Things to avoid are items that are not durable or made to hold up to high usage. Libraries of Things should focus on trying to get more durable and repairable items that can be reused over and over. Other types of items to avoid can be ones that are dangerous (e.g. chainsaws), need a lot of maintenance or calibration between each use, or that need—and can be difficult—to clean between every use.
